The council hosts an Annual Award Luncheon each fall to acknowledge leaders, both men and women, who demonstrate these qualities in their everyday lives. This the only Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore event where men are honored for their contributions to the lives of girls and women.

This year marked the 26th year that the Girl Scouts have recognized an outstanding citizen for his or her personal, professional and community achievements.

This year's honoree was Ed Sunday, who was honored Thursday, October 22 from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Woodlake Country Club, Lakewood.
