The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore's annual Girl Scout Golf Classic is scheduled to tee off Monday, June 11, 2012 at Manasquan River Golf Club, Brielle. This yearly tradition is a well-deserved relaxing day on the one of the best golf courses in New Jersey while helping more than 15,000 girls in Monmouth and Ocean counties become women of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Participation in the Golf Classic provides opportunities for local girls to take part in Girl Scout programs, trips and activities. Support from sponsors allows girls facing financial barriers to participate in a range of Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore programs including robotics, archery, environmental awareness activities and many more.

The Girl Scout Golf Classic begins with check-in and registration at 10:00 a.m. at the golf club, followed by a luncheon at 11:00 a.m. and a modified scramble, shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. with a prize competition. Cocktails, awards and gourment buffet conclude the evening, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

This year, Senator Jennifer Beck returns as the event's honorary chair with Nina Anuario of OceanFirst Bank and George Campbell of Investors Savings Bank, as event co-chairs.
