Are you interested in having fun and making friends while sampling the arts, preparing for a career, or rafting down a river? Do you dream of publishing stories online, traveling to exotic locales, or speaking on behalf of girls? As part of the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, you can do it all! Girl Scouts discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together, and you can be a part of it!

Who Can Join?

Any girl between the ages of 5 and 17 can become a Girl Scout. As a member of the council, girls can participate in program activities that are not only exciting and fun, but also enrich their lives and meet the needs of their communities. The following are the different program levels:

  • Daisy Girl Scouts, age 5+ kindergarten or grade 1
  • Brownie Girl Scouts, grades 2-3
  • Junior Girl Scouts, grades 4-5
  • Cadette Girl Scouts, grades 6-8
  • Senior Girl Scouts, grades 9-10
  • Ambassador Girl Scouts, grades 11-12
  • Adult Girl Scout Volunteers, age 18 and over

Be A Girl Scout Your Way!

A girl can be a Girl Scout in many different ways. She can:

  • Register today and receive regular updates about council-wide events and opportunities that she can immediately enjoy.
  • Sign up for camp at Sacajawea or Amity Acres Day Camps.
  • Join a short-term group/series where girls meet and have fun with each other while participating in activities of common interest.
  • Join a troop/group and have fun on a regular basis with other girls.
  • Attend regional/community activities and events planned and implemented by local Girl Scout volunteers.

Adults • Make A Difference

Volunteering opportunities with Girl Scouts are tailored to fit your calendar, your skills, and your interests. Your time as a volunteer will provide girls the free and safe environment they need to pursue whatever interests, causes, and leadership roles are most important to them. With your support, girls will stand up, stand out, and stand tall.
