Since 1916, Girl Scout’s highest award has stood for excellence and leadership for girls everywhere. Soon, you will be joining the ranks of generations of young women who have made a difference in their communities and beyond. The Girl Scout Gold Award project should benefit your community, which can include your school, town or county, or a more global community, and must be earned as an individual. Girls and adults must attend one of the Council Gold Award Information Workshops to get an overview of the award. Girls must receive approval from the Silver and Gold Committee before they can begin their project. Once a Gold Award Proposal has been received by council, girls will be scheduled to present their project to the Silver and Gold Committee at the next committee meeting. The committee will review and approve the project. It is suggested that girls wait until the beginning of 10th grade to submit a Gold Award Proposal. Resources
