Money Earning Guidelines

Look for service free banks to open a troop bank account. Three currently registered adults are needed to open the account. One should be the service unit treasurer and the other two should be a part of the troop leadership. A Troop Bank Account Form must be filed with the service unit treasurer.

Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, Troop # ______________ should be the name on all troop checking accounts.
Present a copy of the Certificate of Merger to bank when opening account.
Standard personal checks may be used for troop bank accounts.
Three signers are needed to open an account. One signature is required on the checks. Another signer should be the designated person to balance the checkbook.
For Federal Tax Withholding purposes, troop bank accounts are authorized to use the Councils Federal Tax Identification # EO-210-731-966/000. The bank may also require the completion of a W-9 form.
All bank statements must to be mailed to the troop designee on the account not to the service center.
Detailed records must be kept whenever a deposit or withdrawal is made. All receipts for purchases should be retained with troop records.
Troop Bank Account Forms need to be completed annually.
