The sale is of short duration, usually in October, with delivery in time for Thanksgiving and involves girls selling Girl Scout nut products to families, friends, and the general public.

The program helps provide money that supports troop activities early in the school year and helps to prepare girls for the larger scale, longer duration Cookie Sale. Some programs the product programs support are: training, FUNdships, facilities, publications and other informational resources.
