This is the event you have been asking for! With a variety of workshops to choose from, you will be able to explore different topics that will improve skills, broaden new horizons, and make you laugh.

Girls will have the opportunity to choose which workshop sessions they would like. Workshops are all age appropriate and girls will only be admitted to workshops that are listed for their age group. Workshops listed are a sample of offerings. Not all of those listed will be offered to all ages groups. The following workshops are tentatively scheduled for the conference.

  • You Look Fabulous - Inside and Out!
    • Learn about what it really takes to take care of your body - eating right and being active every day help you to be healthy. But it’s not always east to do. This workshop will address everyday nutrition, signs of eating disorders, and how nutrition affects your looks.
      Session 1 for grades 6-9
      Session 2 for grades 10-12
  • Jewelry Making
    • This hands-on workshop will have you creating original works of art for you to wear. No experience is needed.
  • You Made It! Resume and Interviewing Skills That Work.
    • Whether your goal is a summer job, career, or college acceptance, an interview can seem overwhelming and intimidating. No worries! This workshop is a practical, interactive session designed to help develop and practice interview skills, assess interview styles, and review commonly asked questions.
      For grades 9-12 only.
  • "I Can’t Believe...That Makes Me So Angry…"
    • We all have a variety of feelings but do you let your get out of control? Especially when you are angry? This workshop will focus on healthy, constructive ways to deal with your anger.
      Session 1 for grades 6-9
      Session 2 for grades 10-12
  • Take Control of Your Game - Preventing Sports Injuries
    • Learn about how to properly take care of your body to help ensure your always ready to play your game. This workshop is run by professionals from HealthSouth, Rehabilitation Hospitals of NJ.
  • Anti-Valentine Workshop
    • Does the thought of Valentine’s Day just irritate you? Don’t feel a connection to red hearts and cupid? This workshop will put a different spin on this holiday.
  • College 101—What’s it REALLY Like?
    • Join a panel of young women currently in the college system as they tell you what it is really like to be in college. Feel free to come prepared with questions for the panel.
      For grades 10-12 only.
  • Can’t We All Just Get Along?
    • This workshop will delve into the variety of different relationships we have in our lives, focusing on what to do when we or someone we know is in a relationship that is not healthy.
      For grades 10-12 only.
  • Lets’s Make a Change Today
    • There are probably numerous things that you know need to be changed—many right in your own community. This workshop will help guide you through activities that you can undertake and lead to bring about the change you desire.
  • Chocoholics R Us
    • Do you love chocolate? Are you a chocolate expert? This workshop will explore the many aspects of chocolate including where it comes from, how it is made, differences in tasting from regions and a trivia game to test your knowledge. Demonstrations and samples will be a part of this workshop.
  • Dressing for Success
    • Come to this workshop and learn what looks good on you. How should you pair colors for your type and what styles are appropriate for situations. No one should miss this if you are thinking of job/college interviews in the near future.
  • Tape It Up!
    • What can you do with Duct Tape?  This hands-on fun workshop will show you many creative things you can do with duct tape—would you ever imagine making a wallet.

  • In A Peaceful World...
    • Bullying is a hot topic these days and one that is not likely to go away. This workshop will go over some tips and techniques on how to avoid and deal with bullies. This workshop will be facilitated by the New Jersey State Police.
  • Safely We Go Online
    • All of us are on-line, but how can we be sure that we are always safe? This workshop will deal specifically with Cyber-Bullying. What should we do, or not do and how can we continue to gain the most from our technology without sacrificing our sanity. This workshop will be lead by the New Jersey State Police.
