Troop Groovy Girls

An exclusive line of the widely popular Groovy Girls dolls is now available for purchase in the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore council shops!

This special group of collectable rag dolls, dubbed Troop Groovy Girls, is part of the widely acclaimed family of toys that help girls celebrate personal style, diversity and the power of friendship.

On Feburay 18, 2008, Manhattan Toy’s Troop Groovy Girls® beat some stiff competition in the Eighth Annual Girl Toy of the Year competition. The award, sponsored by the Toy Industry Association was presented during the International Toy Fair in New York City. Other nominees included Barbie Girls™, Hannah Montana Singing Dolls, Pacific High School Musical 2 Two-Pack Gabriella & Troy Dolls and Littlest Pet Shop: Display & Play Round & Round Pet Town Play Set.

The Girl Scout Promise and Law provided the inspiration for the initial premiere themes for the dolls – honesty, respect, caring, friendliness, and courage.These values, important to Girl Scouts and all girls, are expressed through doll names like Honest Hala, Caring Caitlin, Courageous Camara, Friendly Fiona and Respectful Roxy.

Each of the series’ five dolls come dressed in a stylish outfit with a reversible Girl Scout sash. Accessories, like a sleeping bag and tent are also available.

The highlight of the collection is a 40” super-size doll that needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
