All adults who work with a Girl Scout troop on a consistent basis must be registered and must take leadership training which is a requirement for the leader and assistant leader. Volunteers who do not wish to participate in leading a troop must register and complete Volunteer Orientation. Why do you need training? The number one resource for the girls in Girl Scouting is the leader. The Girl Scout Program is brought to life by the adult volunteer! The quality of any girl's Girl Scout experience depends on her leader being prepared, enthusiastic, and interested. A leader is challenged to be with her girls in ways that invite trust, openness, and a willingness to work on a deeper commitment to giving the girls quality experiences in a safe environment- Girl Scouting! Taking on the responsibility for the care and well being of other people's children is the most compelling reason for training. The first steps in becoming a new leader is to apply, When we receive your application, we will contact you with a list of Volunteer Orientation Sessions for you to choose from and attend.
