Girl Scouts at Eiffle TowerSelf-confidence, responsibility, integrity, decisiveness and teamwork — these are the skills of a great leader. Girls are learning these skills in Girl Scouts as they grow strong in body, mind and spirit.

As the largest organization for girls in the world, Girl Scouts is the leading authority and advocate for girls. For 90 years, Girl Scouts has helped girls develop the skills they need to meet the challenges of a constantly changing world. Now, more than ever, girls can benefit from the values and mission of Girl Scouts.

When asked what they like about Girl Scouts, girls responded that they like meeting other girls their age; learning new things through activities and events; and earning patches, badges and try-its in a wide variety of areas, from sewing and cooking to computers and car care.

The Girl Scout program still includes traditional activities like camping, selling cookies and performing service, but with a new twist. Girls don't just camp anymore, they go rock climbing, backpacking, white water rafting, and navigate rope courses. Girls don't just sell cookies; they learn important life skills such as communications, goal setting, money-management, marketing, sales and teamwork.

In short, Girl Scouting changes the lives of girls-for the best!
