|
Who Should Attend?
All leadership and administrative volunteers.
Are there prerequisites?
Each adult who wishes to take the first step in training must be a registered member of the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore and must have completed a position application, Adult Volunteer Agreement and three references.
What to bring? |
Please bring paper and pencil. If you choose to take Volunteer Orientation on line, you must request an information booklet from your service unit new leader coordinator. It will be necessary to have this booklet with you when completing the online Orientation course. Volunteer Orientation can also be completed in person with the service unit new leader Coordinator.
What will I learn?
Volunteer Orientation is designed to introduce the policies and procedures of Girl Scouts of the USA and the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, including the organizational overview, volunteer opportunities, council facilities, publications, and participation options.
Volunteers who wish to become troop-group leaders will receive a copy of Safety-Wise, a book published by Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., which outlines the safety guidelines and procedures for Girl Scout activities.
